Which setting defines the system-wide default sender address for emails sent by TYPO3?

1 answer is correct. Easy

Show answer

Answer

  • A $GLOBALS['TYPO3_CONF_VARS']['MAIL']['defaultMailFromAddress']

Explanation

With defaultMailFromAddress and defaultMailFromName you define the sender TYPO3 uses when an extension does not set its own sender. You maintain them in the backend under System > Settings > Configure Installation-Wide Options in the MAIL section, or directly in config/system/settings.php. A valid address of your own domain is important so that emails are not classified as spam. The SMTP username is only used to authenticate with the mail server and is not the sender.
