How can you determine the installed TYPO3 version on the command line?

2 answers are correct. Easy

Show answer

Answer

  • A With composer show typo3/cms-core
  • C With vendor/bin/typo3 --version

Explanation

vendor/bin/typo3 --version prints the application name with its version number, for example "TYPO3 CMS 14.3.7" – behind it is the same Typo3Version class you also use in PHP code. composer show typo3/cms-core shows the version of the core package installed via Composer, including details. Both are useful to quickly know the exact state before an update or when reporting an error. There is no version:show command and no VERSION file in the public directory.
