Show answer

Answer

  • B TYPO3 automatically clears the cache of page 12, and it is rendered again on the next request

Explanation

When saving in the backend, the DataHandler determines on which page the record is located and clears exactly that page's cache entries. This works via cache tags: every cached page carries the tag pageId_<uid>, here pageId_12. Other pages remain untouched, so the website stays fast even with many changes. If another page shows content from page 12, for example in a teaser, its cache is not cleared automatically – that is what TCEMAIN.clearCacheCmd is for.
