What do the name parts Before, After and Modify in core events such as BeforeRecordLanguageOverlayEvent tell you?

1 answer is correct. Easy

Show answer

Answer

  • C When the event is dispatched, or that listeners can modify data there

Explanation

Most core events follow a clear naming convention: a Before…Event is dispatched before an operation, an After…Event afterwards, and a Modify…Event explicitly offers to change a result, such as ModifyPageLinkConfigurationEvent for page links. When looking for a suitable event, you can therefore search for the operation combined with these prefixes, for example in the event list of the TYPO3 documentation. The name does not express a priority; the order of listeners is defined at registration time with before and after.
