Database access · Question 4 of 12

Which database systems can TYPO3 v14 run on?

3 answers are correct. Easy

Show answer

Answer

  • A PostgreSQL
  • B SQLite
  • C MySQL or MariaDB

Explanation

TYPO3 accesses the database via Doctrine DBAL, an abstraction layer that translates queries into the SQL dialect of the respective system. Officially supported are MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and SQLite; the minimum versions are listed on get.typo3.org. This is why extensions should build queries with the QueryBuilder from the ConnectionPool instead of hand-written, MySQL-specific SQL, otherwise they will not work on PostgreSQL, for example. Oracle is supported by Doctrine DBAL itself, but not by TYPO3, and MongoDB is not a relational database.
